I live in New Zealand so shrimp and grits is new to me, I have never tried it but it looks very tasty indeed! Sprinkle shrimp with tsp. Made this tonight and it was delicious. Slowly whisk in the cornmeal. Remove the skillet from the heat and set aside while you make the grits. Cook until sauce is thickened to gravy consistency. Stir to combine. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the pan, then add the shrimp in one even layer. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the cheese. Add cheese if desired.
