"Looking to add a little oomph to your stitcheries? Wanting to have more color but not wanting to satin stitch until you get a sore wrist? Then consider crayon tinting as a fun, easy alternative to fill in your outlines and add shading and dimension to your project."
Lauren has written a wonderful and fun tutorial about crayon tinting and it’s so easy and fun to do, you definately have to try it!
I have been working on the Yeti…he’s about 60% done…head+body complete…just needs his extremities and he’s done! I am pretty hopeful for a Tuesday release.
Tuesday is also a big day for me because Pimp Stitch will be opening…so all of us are stitching our little guts out and this was my most recent finished stitchery:
He’s my little Bunny Boy. I have a few more “boys in costumes” coming with him…I think they’re cute…I hope you guys do too. Someone told me that they look like my dolls in 2D…I thought that was so cool. I hope that they do.
I’ll also have a free embroidery pattern coming out that day…It’s called “The Party’s Over”. I thought it was funny since we have been doing party themed projects all month and mine is the last in the series. I think it’s a really cute stitchery too…I’m working on it right now.
I also hope you guys aren’t bothered by all the embroidery talk lately…but I’m so excited about it!
I’ve been hard at work on the Yeti…I’ve got the head done but it’s slow going for a couple of reasons. One, I can only work for a short time each day because of the wrist thing and secondly, It’s a bigger doll. No Thumbkin here…he’s a big ‘un.
I am also working diligently on Pimp Stitch and we are launching next week, so it’s getting exciting and hectic! I hope some of you crocheters decide to give embroidery a chance! It’s so much fun and easy…plus I find a new craft is always fun to shake things up, creatively speaking.
Here’s a sneak peak at what bursting from my noggin over there at PS. These guys will be part of a pattern collection I am realeasing there next week.
Lauren‘s the superstar this week at PS. Her freebie is available Tuesday on the blog…so check it out.
So never fear, crochet will return soon. I am still hoping that next week I’ll have a Yeti for you! Hang in there guys!!
I’ve been battling a wrist injury this week and I have been resting it, so no new pattern…Boooo.
BUT to make up for it I am offering a 24 hour sale! Enter the code June10sale to receive 50% off today only!!!
I am also accepting Visa and MasterCard payments outside of paypal, so for those who are anti-paypal, we’re here for ya!
I am working on the winning entry from my contest this week and it may or may not be done by next Tuesday. I am hoping it will be but I can only work for a short time each day so I don’t re-injure my wrist.
Pimp Stitch News:
We have a new free pattern up at Pimp Stitch this week, so go check it out embroidery fans!
It’s called: “Get Your Party On!” and it was designed by the fabulous Amy Cluck of Peptogirl!
So go stitch up a storm! If you’ve never embroidered before, it soooo easy, probably among the easiest crafts to pick up. Plus, it’s addicting!
We have a free embroidery pattern over at Pimp Stitch and it’s super cute! This one is by my pal Missy Ballance of Mohair Circus and Crafty Carnival.
“Let’s Get This Party Started”
Next week the design will be provided by Ms. Amy Cluck who I’m sure will bring the heat and give us something super cute to stitch!
