My little boy is growing up so fast! I can’t believe he’s already in second grade!!
The first morning went off well with me waking up at 6:30 to feed Lulu before getting myself ready, and then waking up Jack. He wasn’t as keen to wake up and get going as I was. Luckily, threats were not needed.
He had some breakfast, nuttella on a waffle, yum!
I made his lunch, pb&j, an apple and some string cheese. He had school lunch all year last year and he was ridiculously excited about a homemade lunch!
Then we got Lulu is the stroller and off we went on the nearly mile long walk to school. He loooooves walking to school and getting to share that with his new baby sister seemed to make him very happy.
When we got to school, you could tell he was just fine with me leaving him be…but I insisted on walking him to the door and greeting the teacher.
I don’t get misty seeing him off anymore, but I will miss summer. I like having him around and I miss his company. It is comforting to get back into the old routine, I suppose.
Happy new school year Jack!!
On Friday, I took Lulu to get ther 2 month checkup.
I am exclusively breast feeding and she doesn’t (read won’t) take a bottle at all, so I have no idea how much she actually eats.
Tim weighs her on the scale but it’s never been all that accurate and says a different weight every time, really.
I was so thrilled that she has gain 4.5lbs in 2 months! She also grew two inches and gain an inch of head circumference!
She got her vaccinations. She wailed like, well, a baby! But as soon as I picked her up, she was great! No bad reactions after the fact either! No fever just a little extra tired…but it was over 100 degrees that day and heat could make anyone sleepy.
So proud of my baby girl and how well the breastfeeding relationship is going.
I made a decision early on, not to over think the breastfeeding thing…I feed on demand, one breast per session unless she needs both. In short, I am trusting that it will work out ok….and it has!
She sleeps great, eats great and has a great personality. It really did get easier to breast feed after a few weeks and I am so glad I didn’t give up on it.
Today my baby girl hits a little milestone, I have officially kept her alive for two whole months.
She’s a great kid. Fabulous, even. Just like her older brother Jack, she is a “good” baby. I think that’s a weird term because how can a baby be “bad”, but yeah…
Things about Lulu at 2 months:
- She love to chat. She will have a whole conversation with you completely with coos, grunts, goos & gagas, even some giggles!
- She smiles easily and often.
- She sleeps from around 10-10:30p to 7a. When I wake up, she’s usually just content and happy staring at the ceiling.
- She hates bottle and binkies…unlike her older brother. I look forward to the day when she willingly takes a bottle at least!
- Swaddling helps her fall asleep. She loves it and even smiles when we start to wrap her up.
- She couldn’t make us happier if she tried!
I can’t believe it’s only been two month (cliche, I know), but really…it feels like she was born yesterday, but also like she’s always been here. Amazing how that happens with kids, once they’re here, it’s so permanent, that life without them seems impossible.
Can’t wait to see how she grows and progresses. Love you Lulu.
